A person died Saturday morning after becoming stuck in a piece of equipment at a metal stamping, machinery and die tool services company on the city's South Side, authorities confirmed.

The Columbus Division of Fire received a call at 10:14 a.m., and the person was pronounced dead at 10:22 a.m. at Superior Die Tool & Machine, 2301 Fairwood Ave., according to police.

When The Dispatch contacted the company Saturday morning, a person who answered the phone would not answer questions and hung up.

No other details were available as of Saturday afternoon.

It is the second death this week at a Columbus workplace.

Mitsavanh Boualyvongsane, 48, of Reynoldsburg, died after an accident involving an overhead crane he was operating about 3 p.m. Tuesday at TS Tech, 8400 E. Broad St., an automobile seat manufacturing facility on Columbus' Far East Side.
